At Lose Weight by the Minute we provide you with 5 quick and easy exercises that anybody can perform, regardless of age or current physical condition.

Here are today's five...

Calf Raises: To perform a calf raise simply keep the ball of your foot planted and raise your heel off the ground as high as you can. These can be done while brushing your teeth, waiting by the copy machine, or even cooking supper. Start easy and work your way up to sets of 20.

Ab Flex: While sitting at your desk, on the couch, or even lying in bed, flex your abdominal muscles, hold for a good 10 seconds, then release. Start with small amounts of time, increasing the duration as you improve.

Skip Rope: (Did he just say skip rope?!?!) Yes! As much as we all enjoyed skipping rope when we were very young, we seem to have forgotten all about it. A simple minute of jump rope does wonders for your heart and lungs, including a great workout for the calf muscles. Skipping can be done indoors with a high ceiling, while watching the kids play, or admiring the outdoors and getting some fresh air.

Splits: Now I know what you are thinking...splits?! The ultimate goal for you may be the splits, but for many, its all about feeling better. Performing simple stretches while watching television is a great way to loosen up the body. If possible, stretch first thing in the morning, this will leave you feeling great throughout your day as oppose to tired and stiff. Try and hold each stretch for 10 seconds, alternating sides and stretches, and make sure to never bounce in your stretch!

Speed Walk: Speed walking is something that can be done over and over throughout the day. Every time you need to move from point A to point B within the office, home or yard, try speed walking instead of casually walking over. Walking a slight pace faster is a great way to raise the heart rate and get your lungs pumping! Looking for a bigger challenge? Try getting into a light jog once or twice throughout the day.

Always remember, weight loss, better health, and looking good IS possible for everyone regardless of your starting point!
